Nerd Chick!

As many of you can see, we have had a lot of lively comments from our story telling. I'd like to highlight an event that happened on Friday. I was fishing on the banks while Moonshine was checking the blog. This chick named Sarah Williams left many colorful comments and Moonshine was having a conversation with her that went something like this.

A true love story...

Well this here is my first try at my book. I aint never written a book, so this is as new for me as it is for any of you. Unless of course some of you has written books, then obviously that don't apply. Moonshine and Pablo helped with the editing, but like all things, I think it needs a set up, so here goes.

Fix your eyes yonder upon this setting sun.

Pretend for a second that it is an english sun set. You hear the crickets chirping, the cool wind brushes against your cheek and you close your eyes. Now when you open them, you'll be in the first kingdom in a new country that is coming to be known as Britain.
"Once upon a time, in a big bushy forest, that was dark, there was a man named Bandor. He had mighty beard, and a loving family. He had a wife named fuss bucket Maggie cause she nagged him all the day long, as women often do. Oh and they had a little girl named Princess. Princess had big pretty blue eyes and long coffee colored hair and as her dad was building their house in the forest a giant bird eagle squished him like a bug!"
Well that's my start, what do you all think so far? Moonshine says you can't judge a book by its start, so I'm nervous, but I'd like to write more.

Sitting on the doc of the bay

I really love that song! I hear it every time I fish on a doc. Aint no such thing as wasting time when your fishing though. That's a sacred place for man and fish. Well, anywho, here's the deal, Moonshine and I was talking on the doc that day about the dream I had about Prince and Princess, you know, them kids that was in love. Well anyhow Moonshine decided he ought to add his two cents.

Prince & Princess

Well, today we made it over to Bullfrog Basin. This lake is so dang big! Anywho, we ventured on down to the boat docs and right there is where Moonshine asked me about a dream I had. Remember the one I told ya'll about awhile ago? Well anyway I sorted it out and now I suppose I can tell ya'll what I saw. And what finer setting can I pick than this setting sun?

Indian Doll Houses...

So Moonshine is kind of sick and twisted! We was hanging out in front of this red rock hill, wondering what all them holes was used for.

A tourist told us that Indians used to put dolls in those giant holes.

Set Pablo Free!

So here's a funny bit about Pablo. Pablo is a merchant extraordinaire. For the ten years we've known Pablo, he won't never tell us where he's from. Not even a hint. Every time we ask, it sort of goes like this;

Welcome to Lake Powell

Well it took us a mighty long time to get on down here. For those of you who have not been through the southern parts of Colorado and Utah, you should know a few things about these parts. First off, as hot and miserable as these deserts are during the day, I ain't never seen more pretty sunrises and sun sets in all the land. Oh, and at night, there's more stars in these skies than people on earth.

Epiphany, apostrophe, serendipity, and revenge...

Hello All! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New years. I probably should have put that in a post closer to the holidays, but whatever, least I remembered. Anywho, it started to get real cold in Green River City. Moonshine was all boo-hoo'in about the cold so he got us on the road. For sometime now he's been going on and on about Lake Powell. He thinks they have catfish as big as people down there. I don't know where he gets these ideas from, but who ever heard of a catfish as big as a person? Well anywho, I have a funny story to tell about our Christmas, even though I don't really want to tell it. Pablo sort of made me... and so in that great spirit of giving, he gave me some brews for it. Go on, settle in, and adjust yourselves... this here is going to take a minute.

So what happened was, Moonshine wouldn't shut up about always gettin' crap kicked in his mouth and to boot, he kept on about this whole love thing. I never heard a body mutter so much about love.

Love aint so easy...

Well, apparently the conversation about love wasn't quite over. Moonshine woke me up the other night and was all like, "Dang man, love is hard to define." He talked about how the love he had for his Mom was different than the love he had for his old girlfriend (assuming he ever had a girlfriend) and then he concluded with how his love for his supposed girlfriend was different than the love he had for his dog.
